Side / End Table & Steel Hairpin Legs. Great as a small side table for your sofa or a matching pair of bedside tables.

All of our furniture is carefully handmade at our workshop in Bath. Once we have taken the order for your chosen piece we set to work carefully sawing, planing, gluing, sanding, staining and polishing. We take real pride in making beautiful furniture for you to live and work around for years to come. Wood: - Scaffold Board - We reclaim the boards from a local scaffolding company, hand-selecting each one from a huge variety before carefully drying them down to a suitably low moisture content, ready to turn into beautiful furniture.

We love building furniture from scaffold boards due the the characterful features such as small splits, nail holes, and saw marks from each board's previous life. During the later stages of the build process we fully strengthen any splits and leave a very smooth finish while keeping many of the unique and rustic features of the wood present.

Finish: To seal the wood, provide durability and for a rich colour we use three coats of Fiddes Hard Wax Oil. This is a high quality blend of natural oils & waxes that absorbs into the wood to give a rich colour and to provide a hard wearing and waterproof surface that is food & child safe and will not peel or flake. We then apply a layer of Fiddes Mellow Wax and buff to further enhance the depth of colour and to give a light satin sheen. We have 4 options to choose from - Antique, Rustic Oak, Natural Clear and Walnut. Size and height options: Tabletops are on average 3cm thick but as each item is individually handmade all sizes are approximate, we offer: 30cm x 30cm 40cm x 40cm 50cm x 50cm Custom sizes are available so please send us a message with any enquiries and we'll get right back to you. Our hairpin legs are very strong, sturdy and come with clip-on protector feet to reduce slippage on smooth floors, we offer: 25cm / 2-Rod legs 40cm / 2-Rod legs 40cm / 3-Rod legs We stock hairpin legs in the following colours: Raw Steel: 100% natural and bare. It will rust, even indoors, but it's perfect if you want to paint the legs yourself or go for a weathered look. Clear Coat: Creates industrial, raw steel look but without rusting. The clear powder coat provides an almost transparent, protective layer and adds a slight sheen. Black: The black powder coat provides a protective layer against rust and gives extra visual contrast to really make the table top stand out.

Assembly: We post our tables with the legs unattached. Assembly is very simple with instructions and all necessary fittings provided. On the underside of each table we mark out the positions of the hairpin legs and pre-drill small holes, so all that is required is a screwdriver and a few minutes of your time.
