Vintage Art Nouveau draw leaf oak dining table with original matching chairs. One of the leather seats inserts needs some light attention. The table itself has no screws, it is of draw leaf construction, and the 3 panelled top pieces can be removed in seconds from their dowels leaving the base free. So ideal for getting it into small doorways etc. The base has considerable heavy legs with oak stretchers supporting.
The four oak Art Nouveau chairs match the the table legs exactly in their detail. The table and chairs are an original set. This is a very heavy, high quality table that has been in the same old Grantchester mansion house since the early part of the 20th century. (The same house in the first 3 photographs).
The top has been flatted back and professionally waxed at some point leaving a beautifully light oak tiger grain. There are however signs of use, some scratches and other marks and patina. The base has not been treated the same way and is in very much it's dark oak original finish. The leaves work as they should, the table is approximately W90cm x D90cm x H74cm (3' x 3') and extends by 30cm with each drawer leaf. Fully extended it is 150cm x 90cm or 5' x 3' and will sit 6. It's a versatile table and very strong, capable of being used for heavy craft work or simply to function as a dining table. Collection local to Cambridge welcomed.
